University Holidays

Wayland Baptist University maintains a separate holiday schedule from the federal and state government. Our projected holiday schedule for the period  through May 31, 2009 is shown below.

  • Easter Break, March 17 - 22, 2008 (No classes).
  • Friday, March 21, 2008 (Offices closed in observance of Good Friday).
  • Monday, May 26, 2008 (Offices closed in observance of Memorial Day, classes will meet).
  • Friday, July 4, 2008 (Offices closed in observance Independence Day, classes will meet).
  • Monday, September 1, 2008 (Offices closed in observance Labor Day, classes will meet).
  • No classes Monday, November 24, 2008 through Saturday, November 29, 2008.  Classes will resume on Monday, December 1, 2008.
  • Wednesday - Friday, November 26- 28, 2008 (Offices closed in observance of Thanksgiving).
  • No classes December 22, 2008  through January 3, 2009.  Classes will resume on Thursday, January 5, 2009.
  • Monday, December 22, 2008  through Friday, January 2, 2009 (Offices closed in observance of Christmas and New Years). 
  • Easter Break, April 6 - 11, 2009 (No classes).
  • Friday, April 10, 2009 (Offices closed in observance of Good Friday).
  • Monday, May 25, 2009 (Offices closed in observance of Memorial Day, classes will meet).

Our offices will be open and classes will meet on all other federal and state holidays not listed above.

Wayland reserves the right to change this schedule without notice.

The university offices will be open during the normal posted hours of operation all other holidays.
The counseling offices at Lackland Air Force Base, Randolph Air Force Base, and Ft. Sam Houston are closed on all federal holidays as well as university holidays.
