To be eligible to graduate with honors from Wayland, you must meet all of the
following criteria:
- Have at least 60 hours of letter grades (As, Bs, Cs, etc.)
- Have a 3.5 or greater Final Cumulative GPA (Including courses not transferred to
your degree plan. Many graduates are disqualified from receiving
honors when the incorporation of additional grades brings their
GPA below 3.5)
- Have a 3.5 or greater WBU GPA
- Be graduating with a baccalaureate degree

Master's level:

First Baptist Church, San Antonio Award for the outstanding graduate
student completing the Master of Christian Ministry degree.

Frost Bank Award for the outstanding graduate student completing the
Master of Arts in Management degree.

The Jordan Ford Award
for the outstanding graduate student completing the Master of Education
degree.

The AT&T Award for the outstanding graduate student completing the
Master of
Business Administration degree. (Formerly the SBC Award.)
Baccalaureate level:
- The Bob Ross Memorial Award for the outstanding undergraduate majoring in
management.
- The Claude Black Award for the outstanding undergraduate majoring in
religion.
- The Hector Garza Memorial Award for the outstanding undergraduate majoring in
human services.
- The Helen Dutmer Award for the outstanding undergraduate majoring in
occupational education.
- The W.W. "Bo" McAllister Award for the outstanding undergraduate majoring in
business administration.
Graduates selected for these awards will be contacted
prior to the ceremony. Award recipients will be recognized at the ceremony
and presented with a commemorative plaque. These awards are not connected
to the academic honors based on the grade point averages (GPAs)
listed above. A graduate may be eligible for and receive one of these
Achievement Awards and not graduate with one of the academic GPA honors shown.
