New Students and Attendance

NEW STUDENTS

All new students must provide the following when registering.

  • Name, address, and telephone number of two references (one relative and one non-relative).

  • List of ALL colleges, dates attended, and number of hours earned, even if zero hours.

  • Payment to include a minimum of one-third tuition, plus all tuition-related fees, or have financial assistance approved in advance.

  • Pay a $35.00 one-time non-refundable admission fee.  You may pay this fee by cash, check, or credit card, however THIS FEE MAY NOT COME FROM FINANCIAL AID.

In addition to the above requirements, if you are a new graduate student you must write a detailed and carefully edited, one-page statement describing your purpose and objective in pursuing graduate study at Wayland Baptist University.  The statement should be submitted with the application and bachelor's degree documentation (transcript or diploma).  A GRE/GMAT (Accuplacer - M.ED. only) score or a confirmation number and date for taking the exam must be submitted to the university prior to initial enrollment.

 ATTENDANCE

University policy requires instructors to issue a failing grade to any student absent for 25% (three class sessions or more) of the semester.

It is a student responsibility to attend class, be on time, and to attend the class section for which the student registered.  If a student attends a class section other than the one registered for, the student will be considered absent.

Instructors may not enroll a student in a class, nor drop a student from class, nor permit an unregistered student to attend class.
